Monkey Noise

By Jim Pappas - Posted on 17 January 2010

Eastern philosophy talks about the unproductive chatter that runs through our heads. We’ve all got a steady flow of thoughts, conversations, and dialogs speeding through our mind’s. This mental activity creates busyness which keeps us away from the essence of the moment. The Buddhist Term for this mental, destructive busyness is Monkey Mind.

The same thing happens with your business. Take a look around… there ‘s Monkeys all over the place! There’s a constant influx of new information demanding attention. In addition to keeping up with new specific industry demands, social media chatter is getting louder and louder. We suffer from "attention scarcity".  We're at the mercy of the Monkey unless we take control and implement smart listening systems that keep us focused on what’s important. Listening needs to be monitored and controlled. What we focus on expands... focus on what's important and share it with your organization. Be aware of the chatter and encourage focus and concentration on the keys to your success.

Become conscious of the Monkey and create a Business System that keeps everyone focused on your Primary Aim!
